Baby Brezza: Review and Giveaway!!

Hi everyone In a previous post, I discussed the fun and the benefits of homemade baby food for your little one. The good people at Baby Brezza have contacted me about doing a review of one of their products: The One Step Baby Food Maker.

This machine is amazing!! I am totally jealous that I didn’t have it when I was making baby food.The Baby Brezza allows you to steam and puree all in one step with the touch of a button. It’s perfect for multitasking, that way you can press the button and know that the machine will know when to stop. It also allows for separate steaming and blending.

Using it

It’s so easy to use! All you do is fill the top canister with a measured amount of water-the same amount for all foods. Then, add the foods that you wish to prepare. For my review, I use a chopped sweet potato. One thing that I think is so great about this machine is that there is no separate steamer basket like other baby food makers. The blades actually act as the strainer. This allows for the one step process, not to mention- easier clean up and storage!

Next, choose what step you want to take by picking one of the options: steam, blend, or steam + blend. I used the steam + blend option for my sweet potato.The steam button can be used in case you want to defrost previously frozen food. It’s also great for when your baby is ready to eat finely chopped steamed foods. No need to puree! The separate puree button comes in handy for foods that don’t need steaming-cooked meats, bananas, avocados to name a few. It can also be used if you would like to further puree after the automatic time allotted.

Then you’ll have to pick a time. The machine comes with both an instruction manual that includes steam times for specific foods and a recipe booklet. It will steam your food for the allotted time. If you’ve chosen the steam + blend option, the blades will then drop down and automatically proceed to blend the foods. If not, the machine will beep to let you know that it’s done steaming.

The blending option was perfect. It blended the sweet potatoes to a perfect texture that both Isaac and I enjoyed .

The benefits

I’ve previously discussed the many benefits of baby foods. For me, I loved knowing exactly what I’m feeding my little one and knowing how fresh the foods were. Making your own foods also allows you the freedom to experiment with different flavors and really expand your baby’s palette.

A machine like the Baby Brezza would be very helpful, even for the older infant. You can steam foods without pureeing them if your infant is ready to finger feed. You can also use it to make fruit purees that you can add to oatmeal or yogurt. This machine is so versatile and is very easy to clean-instead of having to clean separate equipment for steaming, as well as food processor (or blender) parts. Like other blenders and food processors, this machine can also be used for older children that require a pureed or soft diet.

The specs

This machine is very small, yet still allows you to make a good amount of food. Without a steamer basket, you can easily just store the blades where they are used-inside the machine. It weighs about 3 pounds and does not take up much counter space. Another cool feature? It has suction cups on the bottom-meaning the machine will stay put while using it.
